The Oklahoma Invasive Plant Council

The mission of the Oklahoma Invasive Plant Council is to educate the public as to the harm caused by invasive plants in Oklahoma and to help control the spread of invasive plants here.

OkIPC was founded July, 2008 at its first conference. Forty-three people, representing various university departments, federal and state agencies, non profit groups, and businesses that have interest in invasive plant control, attended and joined. The conference was sponsored by the Oklahoma Native Plant Society and OkIPC is a project of this 501(c)3 organization. OkIPC is the second project organization of ONPS, Color Oklahoma was first, and was the 38th state where an invasive plant organization was established, although not all are named inavsive plant council but have the common purpose.
