OKLAHOMA NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY: 2008 PHOTO CONTEST
This contest is open to the public. All photos entered become the property
of ONPS, to be used for displays or educational purposes. ONPS will
credit photographers. All entries accepted for judging will be displayed.
Categories:
- The 2008 Special category is Fungi.
- The 2009 Special category will be Ferns.
In each category photographers can enter their photos as "First Time Submission" in that category, or a "Regular" submission. This will give a total of six awards in each category. Awards are: first, $50.00; second, $25.00; third, $15.00. Honorable mentions will be awarded as the judges determine. A special prize of $75 may be awarded for the best photo from a "botanical" point of view at the judges’ discretion. All entries are automatically considered for these special awards. Winners will be announced in the summer issue of The Gaillardia, the ONPS quarterly newsletter. Awards will be presented at the ONPS Annual Meeting/Oklahoma Wildflower Workshop in October, 2008. Prizes will be mailed to those who cannot be present.
About Submitted Photos:
All judged photos are mounted onto poster board, and the current year’s
posters will be on display from mid-June through mid-August each year in
Oklahoma City at the International Photographer’s Hall of Fame & Museum,
located in the Kirkpatrick Omniplex Center. Past years’ posters are
available for display for limited periods. The number of posters in a set
will vary based on the number of entries. To reserve a set for display,

Rules:
Photographs entered must be of native plants and fungi growing wild in Oklahoma.
Each photographer may enter a maximum of two unmounted color prints in each category, for a total of six photos.
They must be between 4" x 6" and 5" x 7" inches in size.
Photographs entered in previous contests are not eligible.
Photographs need not have been taken during the past year.
Photographs not meeting all requirements will be disqualified.
Winners will be announced in the summer ONPS newsletter and online.

In addition to sending your name, address, telephone number, be sure to attach
to the back of each photo the contestant’s name, category entered, orientation
of the photo unless obvious and the name and location of the plant (if known).
Entry must be made before 1 February 2008. Entries and $2 entry fee should be
