I. President Dan Hanson called the meeting to order.
II. Minutes of the April 6, 2004 were approved (Shafer, Magrath).
III. Treasurer’s Report- Dan Hanson reported a balance of $871.84. A motion was made to suspend dues for the 2004-2005 year (Todd, Bohannon). The motion passed.
IV. Regents meeting report – D. Hanson reported that faculty salaries were a topic of discussion. Also discussed: end-of-the-year budget, academics, academic plan, replacement of faculty positions, and computers.
V. Committee Reports
a. Curriculum- no activity
b. Faculty Handbook- should be online soon
c. Faculty Resources- no activity
d. Tenure and Promotion- Most faculty that had received promotions, had received the monetary part of the promotion. No note of anyone seeking tenure.
e. Ad Hoc Committees- no activity
VI. Old Business-
Conflicts in schedule are being looked at by Admissions. They hope to develop a spread sheet.
Adjunct pay is $350 per credit hour.
Freshman Matriculation Convocation was very successful and impressive.
Please remember it consisted of three days of activities. Those in charge were
applauded!!
USAO Foundation has a template for proposals. Dan Hanson encouraged others to apply.
D. Hanson requested nomination for the position of president-elect.
VII. New Business-
A proposal for the faculty to evaluate the effectiveness of staff and
administration was proffered.
