Biography
Dr. Sarah Layman joined the USAO faculty in 2011, currently serving as the Dean for the School of Education and Speech-Language Pathology, Director of Teacher Education and Professor of Education.
Previously, Layman was an adjunct faculty member and graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma. She has teaching experience in public schools teaching third grade and serving as a gifted resource coordinator.
She has been a recipient of the Young Educator Award in 2007 and was named Teacher of the Year in 2008. Additional, she was a Summa cum Laude honors graduate in 2000 and was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society.
Layman has given several professional and community presentations. She is a member of the National Council for Social Studies, Oklahoma Council for the Social Studies, International Visual Literacy Association and Oklahoma Association for the Gifted, Creative and Talented.
