Celebrating nearly three decades as a composer, Dr. Stephen Weber will present a concert of his works featuring faculty, staff and alumni from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

Weber’s Composition Concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. on November 3 in the Alumni Chapel.

The event is free and open to the public.

The USAO Concert and Chamber Choir ensembles will perform a diverse program of music in contrasting styles from the Medieval period to the Contemporary period.

Chickasha Elks Lodge

The Showband will deliver its fall concert at the Chickasha Elks Lodge on Nov. 21. This concert will be free and open to the public with donations going to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Grady County.

The USAO Concert Band and the Drover Drumatic Percussion Ensemble will present a dazzling display of music versatility. Dr. Dan Hanson, director of both groups, said the percussion group includes seven players who demonstrate complex rhythms with a myriad of percussion instruments. "We showcase this group with a colorful assortment of driving and dramatic compositions."

The program features titles such as “Equal Fire,” “More Fire,” “Sizzle,” the Zen-like “October Mountain” and an original composition by USAO Professor of Music Dr. Stephen Weber.
